Rejecting Jesus

Do we meet with Christ?
What if He came to your church?
Would you cast Christ out?

The link is to an essay published at I was reading this passage and thinking about how scripture calls to make disciples, not to ‘reach’ as many as possible. Though scripture tells us to meet together, we are not told how many or what to do other than meeting in Christ’s name. On the other hand, we are told that if we do not include the least of these, we become judges with evil hearts.

Have we become so focused on marketing that we have forgotten to be a people gathered in Christ’s name? What if Jesus came to our midst? Would the show go on as if Christ were not there? Would Jesus be welcomed — or are we too concerned with continuing to do Church?

I believe that Christ does want to be in our midst. How can we accept Jesus as we meet together?
