A child’s faith

Nobody asks if there is a God
Asking is silly when we know
What is God, how does God work?
Why does God allow Evil?

Is God all powerful?
Is God all loving?
Can God make a rock bigger than God can lift?
Would God reject my worst enemy?

God is taken for granted
Life makes faith challenging
How do we make sense out of it all?
Parents punish quickly, God’s justice is slow

Can faith survive questions?
When we grow the questions become more difficult
Sometimes our image fails us
Do we reject God when we reject our Idol of the Divine?

Eventually the Child’s faith is tested
Either it fails, or it endures
