Study

The world is filled with ideas
Books are made without an end
Ideas stack upon ideas
How does one truth apply to another?

Speculation is the realm of the uncertain
Finding meaning in something greater than ourselves
Finding a language to express past existence
Finding words to guess what another feels

There is such a separation between bodies
Differences in time, in space, and in experience
Even in language there is only overlap
Listening does not always lead to understanding

Thousands of words pass in front of the eyes
The ears become full of lectures
The mind melts at the thought of expressing judgment
So much is unknown — how does one choose?

The body feels as weary as the mind
Sleep does not come easily unless unwanted
It seems that a full mind wakes the body early
The morning becomes a call to prayer

Nice poem. I really like this stanza:

There is such a separation between bodies
Differences in time, in space, and in experience
Even in language there is only overlap
Listening does not always lead to understanding

    – There seems to be this idea that life experience is full of gaps, suspended connections or persistent incompleteness, as though there’s only “a call,” and then the anticipation of what’s on the other end.

    Look forward to reading more.
