Questions about faith

Some question their faith
Do they question God or men?
Faith is not knowledge.

I am continuing to discuss Christian faith with someone who is questioning what was taught in childhood. It seems that some people’s Christianity leaves no room for questions — there is an authority, and everything he says is the word of God. Even questions asked by the most respected Church fathers are forbidden. Speculation is treated as gospel truth, and faith judged by knowing the “right” speculation. Christian apologetics are reduced to… defending the sect’s understanding of theory, and not defending Christ or the Christian life. The person I am speaking with clams to be struggling with Christian faith — I ask — is this trouble with faith in Christ, or faith in modern men who speak in God’s name.
