more tasks, more planning

The mind begins to organize tasks
The day is going forward all to slowly
Sleep came late, and continued late
The day looks like a successful day

Yesterday sweat poured from the head
Cool air could not undo the effect of hard work
A day of dripping with frustration
Fighting a machine that did not wish to be conquered

There was laughter and games
There was pride and disappointment,
Tasks from yesterday spill over to today
New deadlines begin to fill the mind

Fall has finally come
The weather will change to winter
Leaves will come down and become compost
Life will become preparation once again

Time can be spent repairing machines
Learning the nature of the beast
Feeling ignorant while solving simple problems
Hours wasted on hard unproductive work

Time can be spent in study and writing
There is so many deadlines to complete
The next column, the next book
The heart seems tied to the pen

The mind is filled with tasks,
Hoping that it can find solutions
Each task is its own puzzle
Deceptively easy, making a genius look a fool

Today has enough work of its own
Tomorrow can borrow some of today’s worries

‘… though painful toil shall you eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you. …’

    what a horrible curse.
