Woodworking

The boards are bruised by the hammer
Nails bend and boards split
The unskilled workman continues slowly
Hoping the project will not be too damaged

A hammer and a piece of wood to the frame
A few taps, and it becomes square
The nails are holding things in place
Everything is moving forward

Every step brings a new puzzle to finish
Instructions never have a place for mistakes
Math assumes that boards are straight
The eyes can see that the math will need adjusted

A few nails, things start to straighten out
A few cuts, and everything moves forward
Somehow it is all easy and yet difficult
Step by step everything is solved.

The evening should see the work finished.
Hopefully the evening will be one spent with friends
