Tax time

Taxes come again
Money no longer feels real
Only a number

Money these days is only a number used to mark the part of the nations wealth a person holds. The government no longer has accounts, they make new money whenever they spend it — taxes destroy money in a more controlled manner than inflation removes its value.

These days, I have no faith in the value of money — I fear it will be stolen, or its value will rot away, when meditating on what money passes through my hands, I realize that I cannot believe in my bank account.

  1. LAR_Northman says:

‘Trust not in the wealth of this world for it will rot or become moth eaten?’ (This is a paraphrase of any number verses in the gospels.)
Too bad the moth is now our own government.
