Candlemas

Youth and adulthood stand together
The line appearing arbitrary
Is a boy ever a man?
At which point is there a change?

The clouds fill the sky
There is no shadows to be seen
Does this mean winter shall end?
It is still too cold for the potatoes

Candlemas, is the day of adulthood
Jesus debating with the temple priests
Teaching and learning as he grows
A man, but still to wait twenty years to come to age

Candlemas marks the last quarter of winter
They say if the the day is warm, there is another freeze
If the day is gloomy, then the last storm has come
Will the cold and clouds speak the truth?
