Christmas, (First Day December 25)

Today we celebrate God’s birth on earth
When he put on human flesh like clothing
The child inspires the world to great mirth
Though he would be remembered for dying
If a man is born, he must also die
If God would be man, then God must suffer
God could be man, for loves sake he would cry
Some days are better, some days are rougher
If God would wear flesh, flesh becomes holy
All men become worthy of salvation
For God, there was no shame in man’s lowly
flesh. The divine would survive this station
With Friday the cross comes, and then the grave
Sunday, he woke, gave men life, and forgave
